摘要：
We have summarized the development of a new type of self-assembly technique in fabricating ultrathin films - layer-by-layer self-assembly technique, concentrating on some aspects as: driving forces for film fabrication, layered assemblies of biomolecules, inorganic/organic heterostructures, layered assemblies of small organic molecules, ultrathin films for chemically modified electrodes, chemical reaction between layers and layered architecture on nonplanar substrate.
