Giant dipole states of multielectron atoms in crossed electric and magnetic fields

摘要
The giant dipole states of multielectron atoms in crossed electric and magnetic fields were studied. First, the generalized potential for neutral multielectron atoms was derived. Following this, a gauge-independent pseudoseparation of their center of mass was performed. Finally, double excited systems that yield a class of resonances in crossed fields corresponding to highly correlated decentered configurations of the atoms were characterized.
