Rapid development of high-technology systems has led to necessity to protect electric power supply. This problem is particularly important in case of computer engineering. It is necessary to provide high-quality and stable voltage. Specialists should maintain continuity of service in order to eliminate losses of information. Reliable power supply sources should be applied. The 'Smart-UPS 5000b' power supply source is modern source which is successfully operated in multi-server systems. Characteristics of the 'Smart-UPSb 5000' power supply source are described. Reliable operation of the source has been shown.
