The Jefferson Smurfit group unveils plans to take market related downtime at its three mills in the UK and Germany. The group plans to curtail waste-based containerboard production for 2-4 days during October. The corrugated business is in good shape but the company plans to curtail production in the countries where stock levels are higher. It is expected that the prices for waste-based corrugating materials will remain stable for the rest of the year.
