Scheme & comprehensive evaluation of waste heat recovery for a steel rolling furnace

By re-arrangement of the equipment of steel rolling furnace, the vapor parameters of waste heat recovery based power generation system could be improved. The thermal efficiency of the steel rolling furnace was also improved. In this article, four schemes have been proposed. Evaluation of waste heat recovery based power generation system is complex. Payback period of investment, thermal efficiency of system, emission reductions of CO2 and convenience of maintenance should be considered. In this paper, the comprehensive evaluation of the waste heat recovery based power generation system with different vapor parameters has been carried out by using the mixed analytic hierarchy process (MAHP). Payback period of investment, thermal efficiency of system, emission reductions of CO2 and convenience of maintenance are four weight indexes in MAHP. Then the evaluation matrix is determined. At last, the comprehensive evaluation is completed through weighted summarization.
