We have studied the quantum Fisher information of the XXZ spin chain model with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, using the quantum renormalization-group method. The results show that the evolution behavior of quantum Fisher information with increasing lattice size can clearly illustrate the quantum transitions of this spin model. Moreover, it is demonstrated that the scaling property of quantum Fisher information at the critical point can be used to explain the spin correlation length of this model. The present work evidences the capability of the quantum Fisher information in characterizing quantum phase transitions in condensed matters. © 2015 Elsevier Ltd.
