Today, lathes with a turning length of 12 000 mm and a turning diameter of 1 500 mm are seldom built. Weiler (Emskirchen), however, has just started making giant machines of this type again. particular features of the E-series produced by the southern German machine tool manufacturer include high rates of metal removal, ease of use (thanks to a cyclical control system developed in-house) and exceptional longevity.
