摘要
The report, titled 'The Global Status of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS): 2010', released in March 2011 by the Global CCS Institute is presented. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change estimates the world's average surface temperature will increase between 1.8°C and 4.0°C in future. A total of 246 CCS projects are known according to a publicly available database maintained by the US National Energy Technology Laboratory. There are 180 projects classified as active, with 19 others completed, nine on hold, 17 terminated, 20 potential, and one of unknown status. The projects include In Salah Gas Storage Project in Algeria, a $2.13 billion ethanol-amino solvent facilities funded and resourced primarily by Sonatrach, BP, and Statoil. Another is, Rangely Weber Sand Unit CO2 Injection Project, which has sequestered approximately 23 to 25 Mt of CO2 used in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) in the Rangely field, northwestern Colorado.
