摘要
An overview of the Gilgel Gibe hydroelectric project in Ethopia is discussed. The construction of the power tunnel and dam is also studied. The project is a major development programme in the energy sector, which is being financed by the World Bank under a scheme known as the Ethopia Energy II project. The hydro project will increase the energy generating capability of Ethopia by 36 per cent and will also contribute to sustainable development and improve living conditions through the provision of a reliable supply of electricity in Ethopia.
