Study of zero anaphora resolution in professional literature of Chinese

There are abundant of zero anaphora in professional literature, which brings many problems for the automatic identification and extraction of domain knowledge. That is why study of zero anaphora resolution has been an unavoidable and significant research topic in knowledge service and automatic processing of literature. However, since the automatic analysis, identification and resolution of zero anaphora in professional literature involve various text analyzing techniques and specific resource constructions, targeted study has not been found so far. On the basis of center theory and rhetorical structure theory, we put forward a solution of anaphor resolution, which is based on the tagged semantic roles and qualia structure. This research consists of two aspects: in terms of resource construction, we have set up “referring library of zero anaphora” and “collocation library of zero anaphora and verbs (or verbal structure)” in terms of tool development, we have developed “syntactic parser”, “semantic role labeling tool” and “discourse tagging tool”. The preliminary results have been applied partially successfully in text automatic processing in the field of dermatology. © 2015 ICIC International.
