摘要
During the melting process of steel making, blast furnace slag (BFS) gets generated as a waste product. The chemical compositions of BFS are almost similar to that of cement. It also contains heavy metal such as chromium, cadmium and nickel but within permissible limits. BFS has superior frictional properties and is a cost effective and eco-friendly material which may be utilized in ground improvement. In this research, an attempt is made to enhance the properties of weak soil by blending the same with optimum percentage of BFS. CBR and other test results advocate the use of BFS in ground improvement. © 2014 CAFET-INNOVA TECHNICAL SOCIETY. All rights reserved.
