摘要
The Biochemical Engineering Research Network (BERN) is an organization set up to help protect and develop the UK biochemical engineering research and training base. It intends to promote better exchange of information between academics, and between universities and companies. Overall, BERN should lead to a more cohesive biochemical engineering community, which should be able to influence the policy of the Research Councils, the European Union, and other funding bodies more strongly than individuals can at present.
