摘要
In this study, ventricular dysfunction was induced by 10 weeks of rapid ventricular pacing (RVP) at 215 BPM. The left ventricular volume reduction (LVR) was achieved by surgical resection of the left ventricular (LV) myocardium between the anterior and posterioer papillary muscles under cardiopulmonary bypass. High resolution tissue tagged magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was performed at baseline, after 10 weeks of RVP, and 4 weeks post LVR. Global and regional cardiac functional parameters were calculated using a custom cardiac MRI analysis tool. The results lead to the conclusion that global cardiac function and regional cardiac mechanics are improved as a result of LVR surgery.
