Vocational education and training (Australia)

In mid 1980s, the Australian government realized that for the region to be competitive in the international market, it needed to set about some restructuring. A number of reports were commissioned and became the drivers of the National Training Reform Agenda. One important part of the program is that of providing vocational education and training to students. Experience obtained to date indicate that having a clear, national policy statement is an essential ingredient in any consistent national development of a vocational education and training system.
