Propagation of Lamb waves in an infinite magnetoelectroelastic plate under a biasing electric field is studied. Based on the two-dimensional magnetoelectroelastic constitutive relations, the governing equations of this problem are established. The phase velocity and stress fields of the symmetric and antisymmetric wave modes under the conditions of electric-magnetic open and shorted are derived. The effects of biasing electric field on phase velocity and stress fields are also discussed. The numerical results show that the biasing electric field has significant effect on the phase velocity, and has little influence on stress fields for both two types of Lamb wave modes. The work of the present paper is useful for the design of magnetoelectric transducers.
