AvestaPolarit are carrying out an extensive modernization program which is to increase the output of the Steckel rolling mill to 1000000 t/year. However, with its existing technologies the Steckel mill at AvestaPolarit had reached its limits. Only through an extensive modernization of the mill and the automation system was it possible to achieve a further upgrade and enhance the availability and ease of maintenance of the mill.
