摘要
P-type (Bi0.15Sb0.85)2Te3+x%Te (x=0-6) thermoelectric materials were prepared by zone-melting method. The micrograph and chemical composition of the second phase were analyzed by EPMA for the zone-melted ingots. The thermoelectric properties, including Seebeck coefficient (α), electrical conductivity (σ), and thermal conductivity (κ), were measured in the temperature range of 300-500 K. The results showed that the hole concentration decreased with the increase of extra Te content, and thus decreased electrical conductivity and scattering on phonons. However, the existing of the second phase increased the scattering on phonons; both scattering mechanisms made the phonon thermal conductivity decrease and then increase around room temperature. The maximum ZT value was about 0.92 for x=3.
