Virtual commissioning allows for digital pre-testing during the development of machines and plants and saves costs through early fault detection. The initial creation of simulation models in this phase is very time-consuming. The article explains the idea of an intelligent assistance system that compensates for missing components in an overall simulation model by performing an AI-based search for suitable replacement models. © 2023, VDI Fachmedien GmBH & Co.
