摘要
Technical solutions 1st, 2nd and 3rd phase EtelligentReach Technology Demonstrator (e-motors, disconnect systems, torque vectoring etc.)-Further efficiency gains through a vehicle-wide system approach Affordability, greater range and usability, as well as safety and fun-to-drive are key elements for the success of electric cars. This requires a system approach for the entire vehicle and drive system. Magna Powertrain is developing the technology demonstrator EtelligentReach to put these goals into practice. In 2020, we presented the 1st generation demonstrator. The battery-electric vehicle is uncompromisingly designed to optimize costs and efficiency as well as driving dynamics. The car is fitted with an electric drive system from Magna's modular drive system at the front and rear axles, each with up to 180 kW output and a torque vectoring unit at the rear axle. Magna went for a system with two wet clutches. Compared to other available systems, it offers the optimum combination of cost, weight, efficiency and driving dynamics. Available torque can be largely directed to one of the rear wheels at high control accuracy. On the other hand, the clutches allow the rear axle to be disconnected, and thus assures load point shifting at the front drive. In the 2nd phase of the EtelligentReach project, Magna is working on further ways to improve efficiency. These include advanced disconnect strategies on both drive axles, new winding technologies for the e-machines, optimized operating strategies involving Car2X and AI. During the ongoing 3rd phase a much deeper interaction between Magna’s eDrive Systems and the vehicle brake system was integrated. This allows a further improvement in the field of vehicle handling performance and safety. The presentation will give an insight into the technical solutions in the drive system and further potentials on the overall vehicle system level. © 2022, VDI Verlag GMBH. All rights reserved.
