Numerical Study on Flow and Heat Transfer Characteristics of Channels With Staggered Frustum of a Cone

Numerical method was used to study channels with staggered frustum of a cone. The effects of Reynolds number and the structural parameters of the frustum of a cone, including Angle, flow direction spacing and spanwise spacing, on the heat transfer and flow performance of the channels were analyzed. The correlations of heat transfer and flow were obtained by power function fitting. The results show that: when the Reynolds number increases from 5000 to 15000, the f ratio, The Nu ratio and the PF of the channels increase simultaneously with the increase of the angle; The f ratio of the channels decrease with the increase of the flow spacing ratio, and the Nu ratio change differently with the increase of the flow spacing ratio at different Re. The PF of the channels increases with the increase of the flow direction spacing ratio. When the spanwise spacing ratio increases, the f ratio of the channels decrease, the Nu ratio increase first and then decrease, and the PF increase first and then tend to a constant value. The maximum deviation of f ratio correlation is 13.37%, The maximum deviation of Nu ratio correlation is 13%, The maximum deviation of PF correlation is 10.07%. © 2022, Science Press.
