In Bereichen, in denen es leicht zu Explosionen kommen kann, setzen Lackhersteller auf die Entwicklung spezieller Beschichtungen. Diese weisen neben den klassischen Anforderungen wie Korrosions- und UV-Beständigkeit zusätzliche Funktionen für den Einsatz in explosionsgefährdeten Bereichen nach TRGS 727 beziehungsweise EN IEC 60079:2018 auf.
