Optimal configuration of grid-connected PV-and-storage microgrid considering EVs' demand response

Improving the utilization rate of solar power in energy consumption and promoting development of electric vehicles (EVs) are the next key trend is the development of new energy industry in China. But the high-permeability photovoltaic (PV) generation system and a large amount of charging loads from EVs will have negative impacts on the economic and safe operation of distribution networks. The grid-connected PV-and-storage microgrid integrating with EVs is one of the effective solutions. In this paper, for dealing with the problem of energy storage optimization in grid-connected PV-and-storage microgrid, the concept of third-party microgrid operator is introduced at the microgrid side, and the net present value (NPV) model of microgrid is established to evaluate the feasibility of microgrid's project investment and operation; the technology acceptance model (TAM) is introduced to the EV's owners side to evaluate the long-term acceptance of demand side response technology for EV owners by assessing demand-side response technology's perceived usefulness and perceived easy of use. The calculation example shows that the establishment of TAM can comprehensively judge the willingness of the EV's users to operate demand-side response, and forecast more practically the amount of the charging loads of EVs; The grid-connected PV-and-storage microgrid integrating with EVs' demand side response can reduce the amount of excess solar electricity effectively and improve the NPV in microgrid's project period. © 2020, Editorial Board of Acta Energiae Solaris Sinica.
