摘要
Ancient DNA has in recent years revealed enormous amounts of information on early civilisations, their migrations, the domestication of animals and the evolution of human ancestors and relatives. While the limited stability of DNA constrains this exploration of past times, recent progress has expanded the reach of ancient DNA studies to millions of years.
