摘要
The present paper briefly elaborates about the production of biodiesel from jojoba oil using hydrotreated technique and utilizing the treated biodiesel fueled onto a turbocharged direct injection (TDI) engine for evaluating its overall performance and emission characteristics at a constant speed of 1500 rpm, injection timing of 22°bTDC, and injection pressure of 220 bar. Result depicted jojoba blend of 20%, i.e. B20, conveys a promising alternative fuel for modern diesel engines. It was viewed that B20 depicts a lower brake thermal efficiency (BTE) of 2.19%↓ while brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) depicts a 3.22%↑ higher value than conventional diesel fuel. In addition, considering the emission analysis, carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbon (HC), and smoke opacity reduced drastically to 18.2%↓, 14.28%↓, and 28.23%↓ but on the verge of higher oxide of nitrogen (NOx) 1.32%↑ at maximum load. Hence, conclusively it can be stated that hydro-treated jojoba biodiesel can emerge as one of the promising alternative fuels for diesel engine. © 2022 by Begell House, Inc.
