Do Farm Animals Have Feelings?

Anyone who’s owned a dog or cat knows that animals have personalities, and even a casual observer of nature eventually realizes that animals have their individual nuances. Flocks of starlings often grace the skies in flowing 3-D patterns that could be construed as art. But even these little birds, that seem to play a continuous game of follow the leader, are acting as individuals. They are each making rapid, independent decisions about their movements.
