摘要
This paper presents a Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD)-based analysis of a Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar system for breast cancer detection, leveraging Multipole-Debye models for a realistic representation of breast tissues. By fitting these models to permittivity measurements, and implementing them into the FDTD framework, we present an effective tool for estimating radar performance across various tissue densities. Our numerical modelling approach also enables assessing the radar's ability to detect discontinuities at different depths in the breast, thereby indicating tumorous tissues. The approach advances significantly virtual system testing capabilities, promising improvements in the development of radar based early detection technologies.
