摘要
To find the relationship between the volume of ferrofluids injected into the sealing gap and the sealing pressure of magnetic fluid seal, a magnetic fluid sealing experimental equipment is well designed. The ferrofluids used in magnetic fluid seal experiments are expertly synthesized silicone oil based ferrofluids, which have a saturated magnetization as high as 31.4 kA/m. The finding of experiments and simulation results indicates that the sealing pressure has a positive relationship with the volume of ferrofluids when the volume is smaller than 0.5 mL. Based on those results, a theoretical model is established. The key factor affecting the sealing pressure is the thickness of liquid sealing barrier L, which is related to the volume of ferrofluids.
