摘要
Orthognathic surgery is an essential treatment for addressing dentofacial anomalies which significantly affect the psychological and social aspects of a patient's life. This study aimed to translate, adapt, and validate the OQLQ questionnaire into Romanian language, specifically designed to measure the quality of life of individuals with dentofacial anomalies. Materials and methods: : The validation process of the OQLQ questionnaire in Romanian language involved adaptation, translation, and validation methodologies. The Romanian version was administered to 18 patients undergoing orthognathic surgery. Results: The adapted and validated version demonstrated satisfactory psychometric properties in term of reliability, sensitivity, and validity. The average Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.92, with a slightly lower value (0.79, p=0.046) observed for the Oral function domain. The Social aspects domain exhibited the highest value, recording an average Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.96. Conclusions: Dentofacial anomalies detrimentally impact the quality of life of orthognathic patients. The Romanian version of the OQLQ has proven its validity in assessing the quality of life among Romanian orthognathic patients
