摘要
Citizen Science (CC) emerged two decades ago, being considered recente and with few studies in Brazil. Some studies have already addressed CC'spotential as a contribut on to the volume of data in studies on conservation, but it is still necessary to better discuss its educational perspective in the training of citizens who participate in these initiatives. In this article, we address the interfaces between CC and Environmental Education (EA). In this context, we developed a theoretical essay, based on a literature review, to explain: (1) the importance of weaving dialogues between Science and experience from a non-scientific perspective; (2) the democratic and integrative potential of CC; (3) the relationship between CC and EA and how connected they can positively contribute to human-environment interaction. From the alignment of these objectives, we hope to contribute to the expansion of more participatory scientific activities in Brazil and encourage the development of more CC initiatives and investigations that prioritize its educational aspect, contributing to the formation of scientifically literate and environmentally responsible citizens.
