摘要
This work experimentally demonstrates the computational capabilities of gold nanoparticle colloidal suspensions. Here we implement Boolean logic gates in Au nanoparticle solutions by applying binary input signals through electrical stimulation and recording the electrical output responses. The output signals are thresholded to derive logical expressions. The results show that Au colloids can exhibit conjunction, disjunction, and negation operations. Unique sum-of-products expressions are discovered for 2-bit and 4-bit binary string inputs, with increased complexity observed for 4-bit strings. The rich computational behaviour exhibited highlight the potential of colloidal solutions for unconventional computational devices.
