摘要
Blockchain technology is becoming one of the groundbreaking innovations in many growing sectors such as banking, agriculture, real estate, and healthcare. The core of utilizing such technologies is to share information securely to prevent unauthorized access and maintain privacy. Jordan's healthcare sector does not use such technologies for storing and sharing patients' information due to information security and privacy concerns. This study aims to investigate the concerns that face healthcare institutions such as patients' information security and privacy. Data is collected from 100 persons through a survey questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS to investigate the concerns of applying blockchain in the healthcare sector. In addition to the elicited information from the reviewed studies to draw the study conclusion. The findings of the study reveal that adopting blockchain technology for storing and sharing patients' information can significantly improve security and privacy. Further, the use of such technologies verifies information security and privacy by minimizing the risk of data loss and forgery. Therefore, the study suggests integrating healthcare systems for both public and private healthcare institutions in Jordan into one independent system that shares one common database. Finally, the results offer valuable insights for the healthcare industry by underscoring the potential benefits of such technology in addressing security and privacy concerns of the healthcare sector.
