摘要
The presented work focuses on the evaluation and assessment of the risk associated with an event that it also affects some of the components of the environment. The European continent has been threatened by flood events for centuries. Coastal and inland countries are equally affected. Flood events bring with them a certain degree of risk, which needs to be identified in time to prevent the negative impact of natural forces. In the flood risk assessment process, the risk analysis itself plays an important role. Risk determination is based on the definition of probability and consequence. The variability of variables allows risk to be determined at many levels. The determination of risk on the territory of the Slovak Republic is described in the newly proposed methodology by the weighted evaluation of the indices of hazard, vulnerability, and exposure.
