摘要
The business context has undergone major changes over the years, mainly because of globalization and the social demands that have accompanied this phenomenon. The trend shows that civil society is demanding increasingly responsible corporate management, which has led to issues such as climate change, human rights (HR) or labor standards ceasing to be matters solely for States and public entities and promoting a more active role for business in this regard. This has had an impact both on the operation of industries and on the preferences of consumers and investors, which is another reason why responsible corporate behavior is an essential decision to maintain or increase the value of companies. This paper focuses on the importance of EsG (environmental, social, and governance) criteria as a key instrument for companies to manage their risks and opportunities in light of this new corporate stage, as well as to understand their context, differences with other figures and especially the opportunity to use blockchain technology to increase their efficiency.
