INFLUENCE OF COMPETENCY-BASED LEARNING ON THE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

摘要
The objective was to determine the influence of competency -based learning on the academic performance of university students at a private university in Peru. The study was developed under a quantitative approach, basic type, non -experimental design and causal correlational scope. The population was 377 industrial engineering students from a private university in Peru. The sample was calculated probabilistically, resulting in 198 students. To measure learning by competence, a questionnaire was used with 18 items related to the variable and the attitudinal, conceptual and procedural dimensions. For the academic performance variable, the students' grade records were used. The study was carried out during the second semester of 2023. The findings revealed that competency -based learning does not affect the academic performance of university students. Likewise, the attitudinal learning dimension does not have an impact on academic performance. However, the conceptual and procedural dimensions significantly influence students' academic performance.
