摘要
This research focuses on the feasibility of utilizing a grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system to supply electricity to an electric vehicle (EV) charging station at a gas station building in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The simulations demonstrate that the suggested PV system matches the energy requirements of the gas station and generates an estimated 85,250 kilowatt-hours of energy annually. This results in a reduction of 40,066 kilograms of CO2 emissions per year. The system can allocate 13% of the generated power for EV charging and 25% for powering other essential appliances. The investment costs are estimated to be recovered in six years. Additionally, the installation of the solar system leads to a 44% reduction in annual energy costs. The research concludes that the proposed solar power system is both technically and financially feasible, indicating potential profitability that may encourage further investments in EV charging stations and subsequently promote the adoption of EV.
