INFORMATION EDUCATION: a terminological and conceptual proposition

摘要
This article aims to discuss information education from a terminological and conceptual point of view. To this end, the article discusses the understanding behind the term "information education" in Information Studies from the perspective of Linguistics. This discussion considers the social standpoint of information insofar as education can promote criticism. This paper has a theoretical methodology with a qualitative and explorative approach. It concludes that information education is a process and a practice in which the social subject uses the contributions received from education to build meaning and critically assess reality by creating information.
