摘要
With the increasing demand for energy, factors such as global warming and the depletion of fossil energy sources highlight the growing importance of Renewable Energy Sources (RES). Many countries have the potential for wind energy, one of the RES sources. Energy production in these areas can meet a significant portion of the country's energy needs. However, despite the necessary investments being made in other RES areas worldwide, sufficient progress has not yet been achieved in potential sources such as offshore wind energy. This study presents detailed results of a simulation conducted offshore Ayvalik to determine the wind energy potential in Turkiye's seas. The simulation aims to economically examine wind energy over the sea, analyzing critical economic data such as return on investment, energy cost, and internal profitability. High investment costs and economic challenges emerge as significant hurdles in transitioning to offshore wind energy production. However, these analyses demonstrate that the operation and energy production costs of offshore wind turbines are competitive with current technology.
