摘要
The aim of the research is to analyse the motivations and incentives that influence young people's attraction to a military career. The General Incentive Model (GIM) is used. The methodology is based on the analysis of data from the twelve surveys on national defence and the armed forces/military carried out in Spain by the Centro de Investigaciones Sociol & oacute;gicas (CIS) between 1997 and 2017. The results show that altruistic incentives, process incentives (exclusively related to the military profession) and affective incentives (related to prestige) are the most influential in the interest in the military profession. We also note the potential of the General Incentive Model to analyse motivations for entering the profession, especially in professions with a strong specificity.
