Epidermoid cyst is an entity that is seldom encountered in the head and neck region. We report an extremely rare case of an epidermoid cyst encountered in the temporal and infratemporal region of the head and neck region with an intent to accentuate on the fact that the documented cases in the literature regarding the manifestation of epidermoid cyst in the maxillofacial region are increasing in the recent past. Hence, whenever an oral and maxillofacial surgeon encounters a solitary swelling in the head and neck region which is indicative of non-odontogenic origin, it is wise to include an epidermoid cyst in the differential diagnosis.
