摘要
The analysis of historical data of the knowledge of recharge, discharge and the resulting hydrological imbalance allows us to explain the formation of the Rioverde aquifer. This article organizes and synthesizes, based on geohydrological studies, agricultural and population censuses, the most relevant characteristics of the superficial and deep aquifers of the springs, as well as the use of groundwater, for agricultural purposes and for supplying the population, rural and urban belonging to the Rioverde aquifer. The results show both an aquifer with an incipient use of abundant phreatic water and one with an intensive extraction with a use of phreatic and deep water. Likewise, great uncertainty is observed regarding its availability, since recharge values vary widely. During the extraction, the number of wells increases, which generates depletion and the disappearance and reduction of spring flows.
