摘要
This review highlights the role of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and patient-reported experiences (PREs) in improving diabetes care, increasing patient involvement, and fostering collaboration between healthcare professionals and patients. It covers the definition and management of PROs and PREs and their relevance for person-centered care, including their integration into the evaluation of medical, psychological, and technological interventions. PROs are recognized by manufacturers, regulators, and policymakers as valuable for assessing the quality of drugs, technologies, and care, as well as for quality assurance and comparative evaluation. Challenges include the lack of instrument comparability, low sensitivity to changes in questionnaires, and lack of consensus on clinically relevant changes.
