Scientific research in education and health in the Mozambican context has recorded some advances in recent years, however, weaknesses persist in the coordination of professional training, financing, strategic definitions of national priorities, the effective translation and implementation of research results, in the exploration of particularities of local culture and in national and international cooperation. In response to these weaknesses, important institutions emerged such as Special School 1 and 2, Infantario 1(degrees) de Maio, Infantario da Matola, Obra Don Oriene, CERCI Maputo, the Hospital Sisters Center of Maputo (CRPS) and others. This set of institutions proposes to act in a systemic way promoting education, health and social assistance. Based on these resources, this article characterizes in a peculiar way the practices developed by these institutions in the care of children with disabilities, identifying the possibilities and impasses in the Implementation of the Hospital Class in Maputo. This was a systematic literature review of researchers who have participated in GIE meetings since 2019, through searches for productions on the hospital class at an international level, reading the collection of Mozambican health legislation and some educational policies which made it possible to provide a general description of the possibilities and impasses of implementing the Hospital Class in Maputo.
