TURBULENT CONVECTION AND PULSATIONAL STABILITY OF VARIABLE STARS

摘要
<正> According to the time-dependent convection theory developed in [1], the coupling between radial pulsation and convection is studied. The calculations of linear nonadiabatic pulsations of RR Lyrae and Delta Cephei models show that when the coupling between pulsations and convection is considered we can specify the red edge of the instability strip, and it may be expected to account for the light variability of red giants and supergiants.
