摘要
In Latin America, there are still problems that limit the formation of skills in high school students; a large part of the teaching strategies focus on theoretical training, leaving aside the construction of skills, especially those related to reading, essential for interpreting written messages. and reason logically. Reading and understanding texts are fundamental means of accessing and constructing interactive knowledge between the teacher and students, although in the high school educational units of Babahoyo, Ecuador; Efforts are made to improve access and use of digital tools, it is necessary to perfect teaching strategies that insert these tools as teaching resources to develop cognitive and meta-cognitive skills. This study is based on a non-standardized qualitative design, focused on a descriptive theoretical analysis about the use of digital tools and the role they can play in strengthening the comprehension of texts in high school students in Babahoyo. The main result shows that digital tools can contribute not only to improving the understanding of texts, but also to facilitating significant learning of knowledge in an autonomous, interactive and collaborative way and developing useful skills for personal, family and social performance.
