摘要
The machining of Ti-6Al-4V is characterized by high temperatures affecting the tool. As a result, the occurring thermal load promotes a pronounced, thermally induced wear. By using a cryogenic coolant, the thermal load can be reduced during machining in order to extend tool life. The results presented in this paper show that cryogenic machining does reduce thermally induced tool wear and thus extends tool life. © 2021 Walter de Gruyter GmbH, Berlin/Boston, Germany.
