Flow field structure plays a vital role in water management and gas distribution within the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) and has always been the focus of fuel cell research. In-situ experiments are carried out using pure oxygen and air as cathode oxidants, performance tests, polarization curves, electrochemical impedance analysis, gas flow and transfer, the current density for different flow fields, and the influence of inlet reactant gases are briefly analyzed. The experimental results reveal that increasing oxygen concentration greatly influenced the PEMFC performance and minimized the activation losses. © 2021, Science Press. All right reserved.
