摘要
<正>1.Legacy matters The withdrawal of Australia as hosts for the Commonwealth Games in 2026 demonstrates that large international sporting events are more than just sporting mastery, medals, and memories.Money also matters.1 The cost of hosting a major international tournament is eye-wateringly high.Host governments need to show that the billions of dollars of investment deliver a return beyond sporting glory to justify the resources that are spent.
