摘要：

This paper analyses "Lucia", an elegy by Alfred de Musset translated into Portuguese by Machado de Assis, as an independent poem in Portuguese language. Although "Lucie" is a French poem, no comparison is made with the French original. The verses are taken as if they were originally composed by Machado de Assis. The analysis copes with the poem, stanza by stanza, in its technical aspects, in its imagery and its outgrowth of ideas.
