A STUDY ON MAGNETOCRYSTALLINE ANISOTROPY IN TETRAGONAL COPPER FERRITE

Detailed investigation of single crystals of the CuFe2O4 ferrite in the tetragonal phase by the ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) method were performed. The temperature dependencies of resonance field and FMR linewidth were measured in different crystallographic directions, and from them the temperature dependencies of anisotropy fields and g-factor components were determined. The contributions to the magnetocrystalline anisotropy of CuFe2O4 in the tetragonal phase due to different mechanisms were analysed. Tetragonal copper ferrite was proved to have an easy plane type magnetocrystalline anisotropy. © 1990.
