THE N-OMEGA - AN OMEGA-LIKE TOPOLOGY FOR DISTRIBUTED-MEMORY MULTIPROCESSORS

摘要
A new processor interconnection topology, the n-omega, is proposed in this paper. The n-omega has a fixed degree of 8 and is shown to have a diameter smaller than log2P, where P is the number of processors in the network. An elegant routing mechanism which is a simple extension to the destination tag control of the omega network is presented. The n-omega possesses good fault-tolerant properties and is amenable to easy partitioning. The proposed topology is compared against some existing distributed-memory multiprocessor networks. © 1990.
